Just like at Imbach, the topic of sustainability has always been an important fixture in the strategy of Galliker. The commitment to sustainability has been intensified and driven forward, especially since 2020, when the "Green Logistics" strategy was launched. A strategy that is firmly anchored in the values and daily activities of the entire Galliker Group. This makes Galliker all the more delighted to have received the award: "Receiving the Watt d'Or honors our commitment to making the logistics industry more sustainable. It shows that innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand. I would like to thank our employees, our customers and our partners for accompanying and supporting us on this journey. Together, we have been able to prove in recent years that sustainable logistics is possible and viable for the future," explains Peter Galliker, CEO of Galliker Transport.
Innovative electric power tunnel
Galliker was awarded the Watt d'Or 2025 for the planning and implementation of the underground electric power tunnel at its headquarters in Altishofen (LU). The tunnel, in which the power lines for 28 charging stations are laid, can be used to charge 28 electric trucks above ground with an output of up to 200 kW. "With the Elektropower tunnel, we are creating a forward-looking infrastructure that enables our electric trucks to be integrated efficiently and seamlessly into logistics operations without disrupting the above-ground infrastructure, space or processes. The tunnel integrates the charging processes into the logistics and protects the infrastructure. This is a decisive step on the way to CO2 neutrality," explains Thomas Müller, Head of Infrastructure Services at Galliker. Find out more about this impressive project in the video below!
Groundbreaking progress in emission-free transport
The use of solar-powered electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks and energy-optimized warehouses with state-of-the-art heat recovery systems has significantly reduced the company's CO2 emissions. At Galliker, over 10% of the national vehicle fleet - around 100 vehicles - are already on the road with alternative drive systems as of December 2024. At Imbach, too, 4 of the 70 vehicles are already on the road, and the trend is rising. Imbach Managing Director Christian Kempter-Imbach is proud to be part of the overall Galliker sustainability strategy: "The topic of sustainability is also firmly anchored in Imbach's identity. It is therefore all the more pleasing that we have been able to expand this mindset even further in the years since we joined the Galliker Group and drive it forward together with Galliker 's visionary willingness to invest."
In addition to Galliker Transport AG, Fent AG, Thomas Lüem Partner AG, CKW AG, Frey+Cie Elektro AG and Evtec AG were also significantly involved in the E-Power Tunnel project. The partner companies were also awarded a Watt d'Or 2025 diploma.
