ISO certifications and their relevance in transportation:

The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is responsible for setting global standards that help companies to establish and continuously improve best practices. Within the transport sector, the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards are of particular importance.

ISO 9001 deals with quality management and ensures that companies are able to meet their customers' expectations and continuously increase their satisfaction. In the transport industry, this means that processes from order acceptance to delivery must be continuously optimized in order to guarantee reliable and high-quality services.

ISO 14001 focuses on environmental management and the reduction of negative environmental impacts. This is particularly important for transport and logistics companies, as they need to minimize their environmental footprint, whether through the use of more environmentally friendly transport methods or through optimized resource management.

ISO 45001 deals with occupational health and safety management. It helps organizations to create safe and healthy working conditions and prevent occupational accidents and work-related illnesses. In the transport sector, the implementation of safety guidelines in accordance with ISO 45001 is essential to ensure the well-being of employees and to keep operations running without interruption.

ISO 27001, on the other hand, deals with the management of information security. This standard helps companies to protect sensitive data and information from threats such as hacker attacks, data loss or unauthorized access. This certification is becoming increasingly indispensable, particularly in the transportation sector, where information about deliveries, routes and customers is extremely sensitive. The certification process is currently still ongoing and should be completed by the end of 2024.
